Insight is a Nelson Merek design 36 foot racing sloop built by Morgan Yachts. Her current PHRF rating is
105 (same as Sovereign). If you have read the Sovereign’s Log, you can see Insight has been a constant
competitor of Sovereign for years. I purchased Insight in 2003 to race as she was race ready and a heck
of a deal, or so it seemed. She was both race ready and a heck of a deal but I soon found out that I could
not maintain two boats at one time. This is still true today. Insight is currently laying behind my condo
getting very little attention while I restore Sovereign. When Sovereign is ready to go, James and I plan to
do some required maintenance and put her on the market. She is a powerful boat requiring a full crew
and really fun to race. She has added a lot of silver to my trophy cabinet.
